About Us

Pack 229 was chartered at Our Lady of Grace School in Encino on October 1, 1990. We serve boys and girls in grades K-5 that attend school in Encino, Tarzana and neighboring areas. We currently serve boys and girls from several schools, including but not limited to Our Lady of Grace School, Wilbur Elementary, Newcastle Elementary, Emelita Elementary, Encino Elementary, Hesby Oaks, Los Encinos, Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies, and several others in the surrounding area.

We currently serve approximately 20 boys and girls in our Pack in a diverse and inclusive community.

Scouts are placed in small groups or "dens" by age/grade and meet twice per month, typically on Sundays at 4pm. The six grade level dens make up Pack 229. We do activities by den and by pack. Scout handbooks outline lessons and activities scouts can do to earn awards and advance in rank.

Cub Scouts is a FAMILY activity, so a parent(s) are always expected to be in attendance and participate with their Cub Scout.

In addition to our Annual Raingutter Regatta and Pinewood Derby events, Pack 229 Cub Scouts also participate in hiking and camping activities, numerous field trips and adventures, as well as community service opportunities such as Scouting for Food, Memorial Day Weekend Flag Placement at the Federal Cemetery in Westwood to name a few.

We'd love to have your son or daughter join our Pack. Please "Contact Us" (from the menu to your left) and let us know that you're interested!
